All About Cilantro Tincture

Cilantro is a common herb that we all recognize. Whether you’re making pico de gallo, a delicious fresh salad, or you want something to sprinkle on your tacos, cilantro is a versatile and delicious herb that anyone can grow at home. But did you know that cilantro is also remarkably medicinal? Well, now you know. Read on to learn how I made a tincture from organic cilantro grown from seed in Kyle’s garden.

How to Make:
Quick Note: This article is dedicated to all things cilantro, however you can apply these instructions to other herb tinctures as well.

● Wash and clean cilantro.
● Completely air dry on a towel.
● Buy liquor over 100 proof. I used rum and whisky. Vodka was hard to find over 100 proof or I would have used vodka.
● Pour out a half shot.
● Put cilantro in the liquor bottle. Use about 2 Cups of cilantro per 750ml liquor bottle. I used leaves and sprigs. Many recipes call for the herb to be sprigged. For me, I don’t like to waste so I put in the entire thing.
● Do not pack down. Finger it down nicely. Be gentle and mindful people.
● Put the lid back on.
● Place in a dry, dark place.
● Tip gently upside down a few times once a day. Do this for at least 6 weeks.
● After 6 weeks, strain out the liquor into glass dropper bottles.
● Discard the cilantro (compost it if you can).
● Store in a dry, dark place.

How to Take:

Quick Note: This is Heidi advice. Contact your Naturopath for guidelines.

● Shake well.
● Shake some more.
● Take 1/2 teaspoon daily for detoxing the body.

Duh Advice (for emphasis): This is not FDA approved or evaluated. This is Mom-Heidi researching 20+ articles because Kyle has gone to sleep early the past few nights and Gummy has collapsed a few hours ago. Google lawsuits of FDA approved drugs. Stay away from exactly what they say or follow the money on any drug they have approved.

Healing Properties of Cilantro:

Quick Note: This is my research, you should do your own and pick what is best for you. Don’t blindly follow me, anyone else, or any organization. Just because a person or an agency claims authority, it doesn’t mean that they have earned or deserve that authority. At the end of the day, you are your own authority. This article was born when I googled (I am NOT a doctor. I am a Sexologist) what to do with an abundance of cilantro, because we had a major excess from Kyle’s garden this year. I was surprised to learn about all the healing properties of cilantro.

All that said, this is what Cilantro can do for you:
● Reduce swelling caused by arthritis.
● Dissolve cholesterol buildup in the arteries.
● Detox the body of heavy metals, including mercury, lead, or aluminum.
● Can be used for treating measles, toothaches, or prophylactically as an adaptogen and antioxidant.
● I have a ton, if you are interested in acquiring some, chat me.

Heidi’s Ingredients for Cilantro Tincture:
● Rum, Whisky, or Vodka (over 100 proof)
● Glass Dropper Bottles (amber colored is best).
● Organic Cilantro grown from seed in Kyle’s garden (picture below of his cilantro patch). The only chemical it has is whatever they are spraying in the skies that fall down onto it.
● Use about 2 Cups of Cilantro (leaves and sprigs) per 750ml bottle. Make sure there is enough room in the bottle for the liquor to move around and work its magic.
